Driven by the agricultural machinery purchase subsidy policy, China's agricultural mechanization level has reached 63%. However, the mechanization level of plant protection in China is obviously lagging behind, and has become an important cause of a series of problems such as excessive pesticide use, low effective utilization rate, agricultural product quality and safety crisis, serious agricultural residues, foreign trade obstruction and environmental pollution aggravation, which seriously hinder and restrict the process of agricultural modernization and sustainable development of agriculture.

At present, the pesticide residues of agricultural products in China are several times, or even tens of times, that of developed countries in Europe and the United States, while the effective utilization rate of pesticides in China is only about 36%, and the loss is as high as 60% to 70%. The plant protection machinery in our country is mostly knapsack sprayer, with low efficiency and high labor intensity, and most farmers are accustomed to using this sprayer, which has caused pesticide waste and environmental pollution.

"If pesticides are compared to bullets, plant protection machinery is like a gun." No matter how advanced the bullets are, if the guns are not good, it is difficult to achieve the ideal effect." To control the occurrence of diseases and pests, it is not only necessary to use green low-toxicity and low-residue pesticides, but also to replace backward application equipment with efficient and accurate plant protection machinery in order to achieve unified control and green prevention and control, and medicine and machinery are indispensable.
